Indulgence without sacrifice
At Soulrise Bakery, I believe that eating nutritiously can be delicious.
My products are baked with intention, minimally processed, and use organic ingredients when possible. I limit ingredients frequently linked to chronic disease, and include ingredients that have nutritional value and added health benefits.

Meet The Ingredients
Fresh Milled Flour
Anti-Inflammatory
Reduced Sugar
What’s so fancy about freshly milled flour?
Freshly milled flour has 40 of the 44 essential nutrients our bodies need.
It is rich in antioxidants, protein, fiber, and minerals, which can help leave you full and satisfied without derailing your health goals.
Commercially milled flour that you buy at the store loses nutritional value during the milling process and through oxidization because it is not used shortly after being milled.
Commercial flour can also include additives, some of them toxic.
Freshly milled flour does not have gluten added back into it, like some commercially milled flours. This means it may be easier to digest for individuals with mild gluten sensitivities (not celiac disease).

Reduced Sugar Options
It’s common knowledge that sugar is linked to chronic health problems such as diabetes, obesity, heart disease, and can even affect mental health.
But not all sugars are created equal. Fruit and honey have naturally occurring benefits like vitamins and anti-oxidants. They tend to have a lower glycemic index than refined sugar which means a slower increase in blood sugar.
Coconut sugar, while still a sugar, also has a lower glycemic index and is an alternative for traditional brown sugar.
Monkfruit sweetener with allulose is another great option found in some of my baked good products.

I had known for a long time that my diet was poor. I was tired more often than I had energy, my joints hurt, and I just ate whatever was convenient and satisfied my cravings.
It took experiencing a disc extrusion in my neck and being in debilitating pain for months on end to make the decision to do something about it.
I cut back on processed foods, tried to completely avoid ultra-processed foods, and I ate more fruit instead of packaged snacks. I added chia seeds to my morning smoothie and started cooking with avocado oil.
Within a month, the pain in my neck had begun to ease. But the “aha! moment” was when I started going for walks and noticed my knees no longer hurt!
I was convinced. Food really is medicine!
But what was I to do about this pesky sweet tooth? So I started baking with these wonderful ingredients.
Soulrise Bakery was born from my love for baking and my desire to share delicious treats with health benefits with my community.
